Entry Requirements
Learners into this one-year qualification are assumed to be competent in:
- Communication at NQF Level 2
- Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 2

The wholesale and Retail sector is one of the key sectors of the South African economy. Its contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) can’t be underestimated. It is for this reason that skills development in the W & R SETA deserves attention. The W & R Skills Programmes and Learnerships are a way to equip young South Africans an opportunity to enter this key sector. Players in the wholesale and retail sector are given incentives play a part in skills development. These incentives include, but not limited to, attainment of scores on a player’s scorecard, tax incentives with SARS.

Extension of Scope
Ilanga Training Academy is in the process of extending its scope under Services SETA to cover additional qualifications. It has since submitted its application to offer full qualifications for learnerships under the following SETAs:
- INSETA
- MERSETA
- LG SETA
Certification
On successfully enrolling for an Ilanga Training Academy Learnership Program, the learner attends an Induction Course commonly referred to as Wow (World of Work). After attending this workshop, the learner will get a Certificate of Attendance.
On successfully completing the 12-month Learnership Program, all Competent learners will get an Ilanga Training Academy Certificate and a SETA Approved and Printed Certificate.
